The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) is a public, coeducational, regional state university located in Davao City, Philippines. It was established on December 15, 1978 through Batas Pambansa Bilang 12, making it the first state university in the Davao Region. USeP was formed by integrating four existing state educational institutions: Mindanao State University‑Davao, the University of the Philippines‑Master of Management Program in Davao, the Davao School of Arts and Trades, and the Davao National Regional Agricultural School.
Mission and Mandate
USeP’s core mission is to support inclusive growth and sustainable development through innovative academic programs, impactful research, community service, and resource management. The university is mandated to:
Provide instruction and professional training, especially in science and technology, engineering, medicine, agriculture, and industrial fields.
Promote advanced studies, research, and extension services vital to the socio‑economic development of Mindanao.
Develop graduate level courses to serve specialized needs.
Offer non‑formal education and extension work in areas like nutrition, health, and food production.
Provide scholarships and job opportunities to deserving students from low‑income families.
Campuses and Academic Programs
USeP operates multiple campuses across Region XI:
Obrero Campus (Main) — Administrative center and broad range of undergraduate and graduate programs in liberal arts, sciences, engineering, business, education, and more.
Mintal Campus — Offers programs in agribusiness, social sciences, communication, public administration, and economics.
Tagum‑Mabini Campus — Includes the College of Technology and Teacher Education and the School of Medicine; the Pindasan unit focuses on agriculture and related sciences.
Malabog Extension Campus — Provides access to higher education in geographically isolated areas such as Paquibato District.
The university offers a wide array of undergraduate and graduate programs across fields including engineering, education, arts and sciences, economics, business, computing, governance, development, natural resource management, technology, agriculture, forestry, accountancy, law, and medicine.

USeP has earned recognition both nationally and internationally. It has been included in QS Asian University Rankings and has achieved notable positions among Philippine higher education institutions.

The university also engages in programs such as specialized education for indigenous peoples through the Pamulaan Center for Indigenous Peoples Education and innovative initiatives like the College Education Behind Bars program, which enables incarcerated individuals to earn degrees.
